Nike x Levi’s
17 years of streetwear collaborations
Nike and Levi’s have been busy together this year.
Sportswear and denim are a classic streetwear fusion, and the duo of powerhouse brands has been running with it (literally running). In July 2025, they dropped the Air Max 95 collaboration with matching apparel, then last week delivered the NIGO-designed Air Force 3 Low in stone-washed denim. Now there are rumors of another Nike x Levi’s launch in 2026. The partnership has been a fan favorite since their first project in 2008, and we hope they keep it coming. Here’s a look back at 17 years of Nike x Levi’s heat.
2008: Air Jordan 1 “23/501” Pack
The first Nike x Levi’s collaboration paired an AJ1 Mid in denim/leather with co-branded 501s and a tee. Priced at $395, the release was limited to 2,323 numbered packs in a collectible Nike box. It sold out swiftly, validating customer interest in the cross-category partnership. (Sneaker News profile).
2012: Nike SB × Levi’s 511 Skateboarding
In 2012, the SB Dunk Low and Omar Salazar LR in Levi’s denim dropped in skate specialty stores. It was released alongside the first Levi’s 511 Skateboarding jeans (2,000 numbered pairs, made with vectran) and matching trucker jacket. The collaboration validated Levi’s ability to reach the skate market, and was highlighted as a success by CEO Chip Bergh in Levi’s 2012 annual report. Levi’s confidently launched its skateboarding line the following year (2012 commercial on YouTube).
2015: Converse × Levi’s Denim All-Star for BEAMS (Japan exclusive)
Co-branded Chuck Taylor All-Star in Cone Mills denim launched as a BEAMS-only Japan drop. This Converse × Levi’s collab helped to reignite Japan’s long-standing passion for Americana, denim, and sneaker culture in a time when both brands had lost momentum in the geography. The launch exemplifies both brands’ ability to execute hyper-local consumer connection when and where it matters most (Hypebeast release).
2018: Levi’s × Air Jordan 4 Denim + Reversible Trucker Jackets
This launch created so much hype that NYPD had to shut down the release event in SoHo. More than subtle co-branding, the AJ4 is fully wrapped in Levi’s denim, including the midsole and partial outsole. The effect is the Nike Air bubble peeking out of a cut denim edge. The matching trucker jacket is reversible, enabling the wearer to flip from denim to nylon flight suit, a masterclass in cross-category storytelling (Levi Strauss & Co. announcement). The launch created over one billion global impressions for the brand, and the Levi’s brand delivered 12% YoY growth that quarter.
2019: Nike By Levi’s
In 2019, Nike By You platform briefly offered AF1 Low/High and AM90 customization with Levi’s denim, corduroy, leather, and sherpa plus Levi’s detailing. The launch included pre-built AF1 Low (indigo) and AF1 High (pink) designs. Shortly after, Levi’s experimented with its own take on digital customization with the Future Finish design studio. While the Future Finish site was short-lived, it’s an example of Levi’s pushing its legacy of innovation and experimentation into digital experiences at a time when “omni-channel” was little more than an industry buzzword.
2025: Levi’s × Nike Air Max 95 Denim Pack (30th Anniversary AM95)
Released in July of this year, the capsule includes three AM95 colorways with a co-branded trucker and baggy jeans in light-wash denim to complete the head-to-toe look. We love the products (of course), but the real win is the “Blue Arc County” narrative that combines Americana and athletic culture into a cohesive vision for the cross-category partnership. The commercials have a palpable western summer vibe and feature both artists and professional athletes, anchoring both brands in cultural relevance. (watch here and here)
2025: Levi’s × NIGO × Nike Air Force 3 Low Denim
If you’re not familiar with NIGO, he’s the founder of BAPE and a cultural icon. The legendary Japanese design talent revived the Nike AF3 Low silhouette in hand-washed denim with suede and an aged midsole. NIGO has worked with Nike and Levi’s separately on several occasions, but this is the first time the trio has come together for a triple collaboration. GQ called it “the perfect sneaker for denimheads.”
2026 (Rumored): Levi’s × Air Jordan 3 Denim
We’ve heard hints at more Levi’s x Nike launching in Spring 2026, but we won’t encourage the rumor mill by mentioning it here.
17 years on, consumers keep showing up for Nike x Levi’s drops because the combination works on multiple levels. Nike brings the culture of sport. Levi’s brings self-expression and Americana. Both brands have impacted the evolution of streetwear for decades. Despite their combined seniority, they show up to deliver new products that feel fresh every single time.
